Populations continue to Grow, and although our cities certainly Don't make it seem that way, we still have a Very large planet to grow into! While we Absolutely need Tremendous amounts of agricultural land, we can also continue to build Up, and build Down. For that matter, it doesn't seem that far fetched now to consider other planets or moons in the foreseeable future for those adventerous pioneers among us.
But no matter Where we're living, we Also have more homes, more cars, boats, airplanes, space shuttles, more refrigerators, stoves, clothes washers and dryers, toasters, home surround sound theater systems plus multiple Other televisions, vacuum cleaners, computers, chargers for cell phones, digital video cameras, hand held PDAs and games, ever growing acres and acres of server farms, and now, laboratories full of automated gene sequencers. Forgive me if I've left out a few thousand other things, but I Really felt like stopping There, thank you! And somehow I get the Strong impression This trend doesn't give any indication of stopping Any Time SOON!
One thing we Don't have though, is enough oil, natural gas, clean burning coal, water behind our dams whether in drought or Full rain years, OR safe and sane Nuclear Power Plants to generate the electricity that powers this Ever Growing load!
